What's included in this tour:
Panama is rich in native traditions and indigenous tribes. Now for the first time ever, we are offering a full immersion into 4 out of the 7 tribes that originate in Panama.
On your private indigenous immersion tour you will spend 2 nights in each authentic and hand-selected village of each of the four tribes, the Guna (aka, Kuna), the Emberá , the Naso and the Ngobe.
The Guna are the most well known of all the native cultures. They live in the San Blas island archipelago on the Caribbean side of Panama. They are a matriarchal society and are best known for their multi-layered hand-sewn molas. That is just the tip of the iceberg about their fascinating culture.
The Emberá are known as the friendliest tribe. They live the closest to Panama City and welcome all visitors as if they are a long lost friend. They are a relaxed and easy going people who will be equally curious about you, as you are of them. It will be a true cultural exchange when you get to meet them.
The Naso tribe is one of the smallest and least known of all of the tribes. They live in remote villages in the hills near the Costa Rica border. They are the only tribe in all of Central and South America known to still have a living king! You may even meet the king on your visit to their village.
The Ngobe tribe is considered the shy tribe. They live in the mountains of the interior of Panama. That means they have had the least interaction with the outside world. They are a polygamous society where one man often has several wives. You will learn all about their way of life deep in the rain forests of Panama.
You will come away with a rich appreciation of each of these unique cultures and leave with your heart full of warm memories and experiences with your new indigenous friends in each of the villages.
